Research:
The group is currently focusing on:
- behavioral
tests;
- brain
oxidative stress and citotoxycity;
- assessment of cognitive processes using animal toxicological models (6-hydroxy-dopamine and beta-amyloid peptide);
- plants
used in herbal medicine; natural
products from plants – extraction and characterization;
- in-vitro oxidative stress and the stress defense mechanism; biochemical characterization of plant and animal extracts;
- antimicrobial testing; isolation and characterization of bacterial strains producing biological active compounds;
- proteins
purification and characterization;
- bioinformatics
(sequence analysis, protein structure prediction and in-silico docking);
- computational Biophysics; Molecular dynamics (NAMD; VMD)
