     IDENTIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF

  BIOLOGICAL ACTIVE MOLECULES - BioActive

Research:

The group is currently focusing on:  

  • behavioral  tests;
  • brain oxidative stress and citotoxycity;
  • assessment of cognitive processes using animal toxicological models (6-hydroxy-dopamine and  beta-amyloid peptide);
  • plants used in herbal medicine; natural products from plants – extraction and characterization;
  •  in-vitro oxidative stress and the stress defense mechanism;  biochemical characterization of  plant and animal extracts;
  • antimicrobial testing; isolation and characterization of bacterial strains producing biological active compounds;
  • proteins purification and characterization;
  • bioinformatics (sequence analysis, protein structure prediction and in-silico docking);
  • computational Biophysics; Molecular dynamics (NAMD; VMD)
